A Piece from the Undaykawūx Collection – Fish Head Soup
This fun and beautiful set was inspired by and designed to resemble the Alaska Native fish head soup. Hand beaded and Alaska Native made, using beautiful beads and copper. The beads consist of trade beads, antique fish scale beads dating back from the early 1700’s out of Venice Italy, Bone, and Canadian Jade. The beads are accents to the beautiful center pieces, the Copper Fish. The Necklace is complimented with fish head earrings also using the antique fish scale beads.
Antique Beads – Fish scale beads are very rare, antique trade beads that were made in the early 1700’s out of Venice Italy. These beads are made by compressing fish scales and using the oils and compressed scales to form the beads. They in turn, put off a beautiful iridescence. Fish scale beads are a true head turner and are great conversational pieces. The particular beads used in this set are from an antique collection and have the beautiful iridescence.
